The good work of the Arklow Community First Responders continued this week as Arklow's newest public access defibrillator was unveiled.
The new CPR/AED unit was installed at Care Plus Pharmacy on Ferrybank and will now be available to the public during cardiac emergencies.
John Summers of Arklow Community First Responders said that the group was delighted with the new unit, which comes as a follow up to the installation of a unit at Adrian Dunne Pharmacy, Main Street last year.
'We would like to express since thanks to John O' Meara for placing it on his business and for supplying the necessary power required to preserve battery life. Thanks also to Brennans Electrical Wholesalers for donating the electrical connections and cable required for the installation. Special thanks to Andrew Murphy for all his work in getting it mounted, connected and ready for use, said John.
Arklow Community First Responders will be running CPR/AED training in the comings and details will be announced soon.
