Plenty on menu for Taste of Wicklow
Celebrity chefs, music and over 30 food stalls
There will be plenty of treats on the menu as the Taste of Wicklow returns to Wicklow town at the end of the month.
Organisers gathered at the Abbey Grounds this week to officially launch the festival and give further details about the two-day event, which takes place on Saturday, June 30, and Sunday, July 1.
Celebrity chefs Kevin Dundon, Catherine Fulvio and Paul Kelly will be bringing their considerable talents to the stage on Sunday, alongside local chefs Paul Smith from The Mystic Celt and Alan Hegarty and Tomasz Wzrobel from the Lighthouse Restaurant.
A feast of music will be served up on Saturday and, with the start of the Volvo Round Ireland Yacht Race taking place the same day, Wicklow town will be a hive of activity, excitement and fun.
'Now in its sixth year, The Taste of Wicklow Food Festival has become the stand-out social event of the year in Wicklow town and this year sets out to promote all the food producers in County Wicklow,' said Robin Bradley, President of Wicklow Town and District Chamber, which organises the festival.
There will be live music at the Abbey Grounds from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 30. Acts taking to the stage will include Cafolla and Engel, Seo Linn, Music Generation Wicklow, Look to The Lady, and Ireland's Got Talent runners-up Xquisite Dance.
The main event takes places from noon to 7 p.m. at the Abbey Grounds on Sunday, July 1. There will be cookery demonstrations throughout the day, masterclass demonstrations, an artisan market and craft stalls, live music, walkabout performers and plenty of family-orientated fun, such as face painting, children's games, entertainers and puppet and circus shows.
Tickets will be €10 at the gate, with under-12s free. For more information, visit www.tasteofwicklow.ie.
