Plenty of support for Wicklow Parish Fête

The organisers of the Wicklow Parish Fête held on Saturday would like to thank everyone who supported the event which was held at East Glendalough School.

There was a steady attendance throughout the whole day despite the occasional shower.

Activities included bouncy castles, face painting, numerous game stalls and a safety display by Wicklow Fire Services. WSPCA members from Sharpeshill were on hand to judge the dog show and a touch rugby competition saw teams compete for the honour of fête champions.

The event organisers would like to thank East Glendalough for the use of their school and grounds, Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail for the complimentary use of their car park and Irish Red Cross for proving first aiders.

The Wicklow Fire Brigade, Wicklow Rugby Club, Wicklow Hockey Club and the WSPCA Sharpeshill all helped provide family entertainment on the day.

The Fête was supported by many local business including: Wicklow Hire and Sales Ltd, Sheridan-Colohan, Wicklow and District Credit Union, East Coast Radio, Glanbia Rathdrum, Gardiner Grain Coolgreany, Wicklow Veterinary Practice, Saluatore Di Martino, Hopkins Hardware, Robin Knox and Associates, Irish Rail, Hopkins Toymaster, Tinakilly House Hotel, Noel Heatley, Bernie Nuzum, Hunter's Hotel, Irish Popcorn Company Rathnew, Uplift Gym, O'Hanlon Herbs, Bus Eireann, Peter Byrne Nursery and William Heatly.

Lastly Wicklow Parish would like to thank all the individuals on the committee and who volunteered on the day and greatly contributed to the day's great success.
