The sun shone brightly on the official opening of the all weather play area at Scoil Chaoimhín Naofa in Hollywood on last Friday.

A 'Lip Sync' fundraiser organised by the Parents Association and held last year in the Killashee Hotel Naas raised in the region of €90,000 for an all weather play area and play equipment for the school.

The Hollywood Community came together in tremendous numbers to support the school and provide this essential amenity for pupils, now and for the future.

'We had a large area of grass that was unusable for most of the school year due to our weather and now the pupils have this wonderful space to play in everyday. We are hugely appreciative to all who made this possible' said Séamas Ó Briain, Principal at Scoil ChaoimhÍn Naofa.

In attendance at the opening was the Most Reverend Bishop Eamonn Walsh who blessed the play area, cut the ribbon and unveiled a plaque.

Thanks were given to Fr. Prendiville, the school's Board of Management, parents, pupils, the Parents Association, Lip Sync committee, contestants, sponsors and the Hollywood community.
