The Kitchen courtyard at Russborough House was the venue for the new farmer's market.
The event proved hugely popular and featured a range of local producers set up in line with public health guidelines. Shoppers could browse stalls including sweet treats, honey, crepes and jewellery on sunny Sunday in west Wicklow.
'It exceeded all expectations,' said Teresa Crowley of Russborough House, 'and it was an encouraging start. Our aim is to keep the market local and fresh.'
The farmer's market will continue every second Sunday at the popular tourist attraction until the end of September. It will maintain a focus on local producers and produce.
There are also plans to potentially expand the farmer's market in a Covid safe manner to meet demand from local traders and shoppers alike. Proposals to run the farmer's market over the winter months are also being considered.
'It got a great response from local people. We were thrilled and got lots of feedback,' Ms Crowley added.
