Wicklow and District Lions Club has presented a football kit to Rathnew U13s football team, continuing their ongoing support for the local community and much to the delight of the young players and their leaders and parents.

Members of Wicklow Lions presented a new set of jerseys to coach Declan Earls in the clubhouse in Rathnew last week. The jerseys feature a newly designed Wicklow Lions logo incorporating the official International logo with a wonderful modern colour design.

Rathnew AFC are currently representing the local Lions club very successfully in the All Ireland U13 competition and will meet Tullamore away in the semi-final to be held in the coming weeks.

This is a soccer tournament sanctioned by the FAI involving the whole of Ireland. The purpose is to promote Lionism to the general public through the medium of Sport especially the youth. The new kit will help a great deal in this promotion. And the members of the Lions club are very proud to be part of it.

All Lions clubs make a huge difference in all communities throughout Ireland and the Wicklow club is one of the most active. The club continuously look for new volunteers to become members, if any lady or gentleman is interested and is seeking a rewarding experience, the perfect way to achieve this is to join a Lions club.
