New bus shelters for Arklow and Rathdrum
New bus shelters are set to be installed in Arklow and Rathdrum.
The new bus shelters will be sustainable with planted roofs.
One shelter is set to be installed in the Knockmore area of Arklow, while the second will be put in the Seville's Cross area of Rathdrum. Although Rathdrum has five bus stops, this will be the first shelter installed the town.
Councillor Pat Kennedy said he was particularly delighted that one of the shelters would be installed in Rathdrum, becoming the town's first bus shelter.
'It's be welcomed. People in the community have been looking for a bus shelter for a long time,' Cllr Kennedy added.
Last month, it was confirmed that Arklow had been awarded a €15,000 grant and the money was to be used to fund bus shelters in the Municipal District.
The money was awarded through the Community Enhancement Programme 2019 and was secured by the Arklow town team.
