Murder charge in South Quay car plunge case
A 27-year-old Arklow resident was charged with the murder of a Hungarian man at a special sitting of Bray District Court on Friday morning.
Marta Herda (27), with an address at 22 Pairc Na Saile, Arklow, was charged with the murder of Csaba Orsas at the South Quay, Arklow on March 26, 2013.
Herda, who was wearing black leggings, a white top and khaki cardigan, wept as the evidence of her arrest was heard in court.
Garda Anthony Crehan said he had arrested Herda, a Polish national, at 7.25 a.m. on Friday at 22 Pairc Na Saile and brought her to Arklow Garda Station where she was charged with the murder of Mr Orsas.
After charge she replied 'I didn't want this happened'.
Acting for Herda, solicitor Tom Honan made, and was granted, an application for legal aid, noting the seriousness of the charge. He told Judge David Kennedy he would be making an application for bail in the High Court as soon as possible. Herda was remanded in custody until today's (Wednesday) sitting of Arklow District Court.
