Men caught with stolen alcohol

Two men have been charged after they were found in possession of a bag containing stolen bottles of alcohol.

The stolen items were contained in a bag which had been specially designed to circumvent supermarket security systems.

The incident took place in Wicklow town on Monday, March 6, when the two men were discovered in possession of the bag containing various stolen bottles of alcohol, including a bottle of champagne.

Thieves commonly use different methods to try prevent security tags from functioning, including lining bags with foil so as to try and negate the transmission of security tags.

Following a Garda search, further stolen property was discovered in a car located nearby.
