Wicklow Rotary Club made presentations to both Wicklow Tidy Towns and Wicklow Mental Health Association at a special dinner and table quiz night held in Tinakilly.

Both organisations were presented with cheques for €1,000 each.

Last year Wicklow Tidy Towns won a Gold Medal in the national Tidy Towns Competition in category E for towns with a population between 5,000 and 10,000. Wicklow also topped the Tidy Towns awards for the whole county.

Over the past number of years Wicklow Rotary Club has made a contribution of 8,000 crocuses to Wicklow Tidy Towns, and also provided funding for the 'Wicklow Through the Ages' mural at Abbey Street car park. Rotary also organises the Christmas Remembrance Tree and other annual fundraisers. Tickets costing €30 offered the opportunity to take part in Friday's quiz, while tickets priced at €120 provided a table of four with a meal, quiz, spot prizes and more. 16 tables of four took part on the night, with Rotary member Theo Phelan making for a very able quiz master.
