The team at Kerry Foods in Shillelagh recently presented a hefty €10,000 donation Barretstown Children's Camp.

The cheque was the proceeds of a fundraising initiative by the team at the Shillelagh facility. Each year, the site votes on three charities to support and Barretstown was among the causes selected in 20119.

The money was raised through an on-site raffle and a winter swim which was held in Wicklow Harbour on Sunday, December 1. Several of the swimmers visited Barretstown in November last and had the chance to see firsthand the impact that this charity has on families and children who are living with a serious illness.

The raffle and swim received huge support from employees of the site and the initiative was led by production manager Michelle O'Brien and team member Aideen Nolan.

Michelle has a personal connection with this organisation as she spent some time attending the sibling camps herself as a child. This connection inspired Michelle and the team to work together to fundraise for this worthy cause.
