Garda Commissioner Drew Harris is to be invited to attend a meeting in September with the local authority.
Members were asked to note the annual report for 2019 of the council's Joint Policing Committee at their June meeting. They heard that it was hoped that the garda commissioner would be available to attend a meeting in September.
Cllr Gerry Walsh (FF), chair of the Joint Policing Committee said the committee had been unable to hold a public meeting as intended due to Covid-19.
He hoped Commissioner Harris would reschedule his appearance.
The motion to note the Joint Policing Committee's annual report for 2019 and submit it to the Policing Authority was proposed by Cllr Walsh and seconded by Cllr Paul O'Brien (Lab).
All councillors present agreed to the motion.
During the June meeting, councillors also agreed to adopt the Wicklow County Council Annual Service Delivery Plan, 2020, The motion was proposed by Cllr Pat Fitzgerald (FF) and seconded by Cllr Pat Kennedy (FF) with all councillors present agreeing to the motion.
