St Patrick's GAA Club held the inaugural Wicklow Hire and Hardware 5k and 10k Autumn Challenge as part of a new fundraising drive for the club.

Participants were greeted by a beautiful and sunny morning as they arrived for registration at the clubhouse before setting off later that morning to tackle a pretty challenging course.

The tired runners were provided with refreshments at the finish line by Siobhan and Emma and the whole tuck shop crew.

Barry and Billy O'Reilly of Wicklow Hire and Hardware attended the prize giving ceremony which took place at the end of race. Thanks were also passed on to Carmel Earls, Geraldine Mooney and the whole organising committee.

The results were as follows: Children: Girls - U9 Ellen Canavan, U13 Nicola Cawley. Boys U9 Isaac O'Sullivan, U11 Conor Kelly, U13 Lorcan Byrne. A special mention to U13 Rory Hennessy who completed the 10k.

The Ladies 5K results were: First, Claire Earls, second, Sile Byrne and third Sarah Mc Walter. The Men's 5k results were: first Derek Crammond, second Patrick O'Keane, third Alan Dempsey.

The Ladies 10K results were: first Ann Marie Kenny, second Katie Conroy and third Lizzie McIlhenney. The Men's 10k results were: first Joe Cawley, second Mark Redmond and third Ronan King.

The event proved such a success that it may become an annual feature in the busy club calendar.
