Animals of all shapes and sizes were the focus of attention last Sunday at the Wicklow SPCA dog park at Sharpeshill.

The 'All About the Animals' day featured an afternoon of information, education and demonstrations from various groups who work with animals in the local community.

Some former residents of Sharpeshill also made a return visit and met up with some old friends from the past.

There was representation from organisation such as Irish Guide Dogs, Seal Rescue Ireland, Ben Harden Beekeeping, The Donkey Sanctuary, National Parks and Wildlife Service, Arklow Cat Rescue, Irish Horse Welfare Trust, Shanaclune Equine Dentistry, ISPCA, Department of Agriculture, local wildlife author Jaunita Browne, Burns Pet Nutrition, Healing Hands Therapeutic Riding Centre, Irish Master Farriers Association, Avondale Veterinary and the Irish Blue Cross.

Visitors could also browse through a wide selection of supplies for pets, from special animal feeds to accessories, herbal animal products and groomers. There were further displays from the Garda Mounted Unit and the Garda Canine Unit.
