BOYS AND girls at Tinahely National School welcomed a very special guest to their end of term Sports Day recently.

While on a weekend to Tinahely visiting his grandmother Nancy Coleman, Everton right back Seamus Coleman was delighted to call into the school where his father attended as a child.

Seamus was in Tinahely with his father Henry, brother Francis and girlfriend Rachel Cunningham. His mother Marie and brother Stephen who holds a bronze Special Olympics medal were at home in Donegal over the weekend.

Speaking to The Wicklow People, Henry said that the family was very happy to be invited to attend the sports day.

' It was a lovely day and Seamus enjoyed meeting the students. My mum lives in Coolruss so we try to get down from Donegal as much as possible. I moved to Donegal around 40 years ago but still have family here. Seamus loves to visit.'

Following a very successful ten week period on loan at Blackpool, Seamus is now back at Everton where he signed a new contract. He is credited with helping to ensure Blackpool's promotion for the coming year.

Seamus is currently in the middle of pre-season training in Australia.
