Changes to nursing home in Donard

Myles Buchanan

An application has been made to ammend planning aspects of a nursing home in Donard which received the green light in September of last year.

Last year permission was granted for the development at Donard Demesne West which was to consist of a single storey nursing home with 60 beds and eight dormer houses which consist of four sets of semi detached dormers.

Another application was lodged with Wicklow County Council by Ted Flynn in August seeking permission for ten semi detached two storey houses, four semi-detached dormer bungalows, one 15 bedroom single storey detached age friendly independent living unit with communal kitchen, living and dining spaces, detached building consisting of a plant room, overnight nurses station and storage room and all associated site works.

The housing element will amend and replace the previously granted eight dormer bungalows.

Wicklow County Council will accept submissions up until deadline day which will be September 16.
