The Arklow Chamber President Donal Murray has revealed that the 2019 'Person of the Year Award' will be presented to local Arklow Tidy Town volunteer and project co-ordinator, Sandra Duffy.

Sandra has spearheaded the voluntary Tidy Towns group that meets every Tuesday evening. Their efforts have culminated in Arklow receiving the gold medal for the best keep large town in Ireland. Sandra is also a member of the Arklow Town Team that continues to bring great benefits to the town. A successful businessperson, Sandra continues to be at the forefront of bringing improvements to the town and is a worthy recipient of the Arklow Person of the Year Award.

This award, kindly sponsored by Servier Ireland Industries, is in recognition of Sandra's amazing achievements and her outstanding contribution to the town. She will be presented with the award at the Chamber Ball and Awards event on Friday, September 13 in the Arklow Bay Hotel.

To date, there has been a great response from the public in relation to nominations for the other four award categories. Nominations can be submitted via www.arklow.ie and will be accepted until Friday, August 23.

A shortlist of nominations will be revealed shortly.

The Arklow and District Chamber Ball is a highlight of the business event calendar. This year, it promises to be a wonderful night to celebrate all that is good about business in Arklow and the surrounding area.
