Ireland's friendliest musical society is back on the boards next week, presenting Calamity Jane' in St. Brigid's Hall (November 26 to December 1). The show stars Tanya Tighe in the title role, opposite Brendan Fitzpatrick as Wild Bill Hickock, with scene stealing Gayle Jordan as Adelaide Adams. Other performers lined up to entertain include Ronan Ryan, Seán Hallahan, Rob Donnel
Hits from Calamity Jane' are Black Hills of Dakota', My Secret Love', Deadwood Stage' and windy City'.
The cast has been prepared for their take on the Francis Webster/Sammy Fain classic by director Michael Dunbar and choreographer Aine Kavanagh, with Lar Duffy returning once more as musical director.
The show starts at 8 p.m. nightly and the booking office opens today (Wednesday) phone Margaret at 087 698 5275 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. any day except Sunday. The society has staged Calamity' before, with veterans Goodwin Furlong, Mary Doyle and Leslie Dowse among those who took part in the 1979 production starring Ann Sheridan and Seán Hallahan in the lead roles.
A 40th anniversary programme is being compiled by Eamonn Doran, featuring many photographs from the archives.
