The woman charged with the murder of Hungarian national Csaba Orsas in Arklow last year was granted bail at Arklow District Court on Wednesday and will reappear on November 12, 2014.

Marta Herda (27), originally from Poland but with an address at 22 Pairc na Saille, Emoclew Road, is charged with the offence at South Quay, Arklow on March 26, 2013.

Solicitor Tom Honan told the court that bail had been approved at Cloverhill High Court on October 13 but that the matter had been remanded to Arklow District Court for an independent surety to be secured. Marius Blaszczyk, with the same address as Herda, signed as a surety and lodged €4,000 with the court. Herda entered a bond in the sum of €500.

Mr Honan said that his client had handed over her passport and understood the conditions of her bail including signing on at the Garda station and observing a curfew.

He added that the addresses of Herda's parents, sister and brother had also been provided to gardaí.
