Bray is 'lovin' it' with the news that the town's McDonald's has made it on to a list of the top ten coolest golden arches locations in the world.

USA Today has placed the Bray fast-food outlet at number five on its list.

This comes three years after the town's Harbour Bar was named best pub in the world by Lonely Planet.

The Town Hall building which houses McDonald's is over 200 years old and still includes council chambers on the first floor.

McDonalds has been in-situ in the Main Street building since 1997 when the Town Council sold a long term leasehold with an annual rent of £47,000. The leasholders in return rented the ground floor of the building to McDonalds.

The other coolest locations include a Georgian mansion in New Hyde Park dating back to 1795.

McDonald's originally purchased the house with the intent of tearing it down and building a standard restaurant, but residents of the area fought the development and forced them to keep the building.
