Wicklow Cancer Support hosts open day and coffee morning
A fundraising coffee morning held in the offices of Wicklow Cancer Support recently also acted as an open day.
The 'Cups against Cancer' event took place during Cancer Awareness Month, with all the proceeds raised on the day going toward cancer research.
The open day meant that visitors were welcome to come along and find out how the centre works and about the various services it provides.
It also allowed Wicklow Cancer Support to showcase some of the recent alterations carried out to the centre with help from donations from last year's Christmas Remembrance Tree run by the Wicklow Rotary Club.
Plenty of locals dropped into the centre to lend their support, with a total of €800 raised on the day.
Meanwhile, a recent bumper sale organised by Maureen Dunne and which took place in the Grand Hotel raised €5,200 for Wicklow Cancer Support and St Patrick's Church, including a very generous donation from Wicklow Drama Group.
