Wicklow Tennis Club is reopening on a phased basis

Wicklow Tennis Club reopened this week with a phased return for members.

A number of changes have been implemented in order ensure safeguarding measures remain in place for Covid-19.

All internal gates and free-standing benches have been removed. Hand sanitisers have also been installed at arrival and exit points.

Line markings indicating social distancing have been painted on the walkways and a one-way system has been established for members to exit the grounds.

The club will be conforming to strict guidelines from the Government, HSE and Tennis Ireland and as a result a gradual return to play is considered the safest way.

Eighteen to 69 year olds are allowed return, and it is hoped to welcome back junior members and over 70s when Phase 2 is implemented on June 8.

A new court booking system is also being introduced. This will enable members to book ahead and therefore eliminate the need to touch any paperwork, pens or doors on arrival.
