Take on the 'Dip in the Nip' challenge

The seventh annual Strip and Dip takes place at the scenic Magheramore Beach on Saturday following last year's record breaking effort.

2,500 women from 32 counties and over 22 countries stripped off last year at the secluded beach to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of skinny dippers, while also raising €500,000 for Aoibheanns Pink Tie.

No record breaking target has been set for this year so the emphasis will be firmly focused on having 'fun'.

Wayne Jones and Deirdre Featherstone are the main organisers. Last year's festivities were held in the Grand Hotel in Wicklow town but will move to the Arklow Bay Hotel for this year's event. A disco will take place in the Arklow Bay later in the evening at a cost €15, which also includes some food platters and a glass of prosecco.

A bus leaves the hotel on the morning of the dip at 10 a.m. to drop everyone off at the beach. After the dip the bus will collect you and either drop you off at Sally O'Brien's for a music and gin reception or will drop you back at the hotel.

Visit www.stripanddip.ie if you want to register.
