Tae Kwon Do

MEMBERS of Avoca Tae Kwon Do recently received their belts following the latest grading ceremony.

In all, ten students received new belts. They were Sean Lee (Orange), Cian O'Hara (blue), Paul Magee (blue), Carl Sayers (blue), Laura Brannigan (blue), Lorcan Kelly (yellow), Matthew Gammel (blue), and Broke and Melissa Murphy (blue and orange respectively).

Coolkenno First Responders is looking for volunteers.

First Responders are trained to use CPR and Pre Emergency Care in the local area. There is training every month and responders are on the roster at times convenient to them. You must live within a 3 mile radius of Coolkenno and drive a car. Call Annie at 087-9701773.


The Arklow Methodist Church will hold a Harvest Thanksgiving on Monday next at 8 p.m. The Preacher will be Robert Holden and Soloist will be Rhoda Yeoman. All welcome.


As part of the of the 30th Anniversary celebration of Arklow-Châteaudun twinning, Tesco is collaborating with Arklow Twinning Association in a French wine tasting on next Thursday morning from 11am to 1 pm. There will be a great range of wines, croissants, cheeses and patés.
