Representatives of Blainroe Nursing Home made two separate presentations this week following the success of their Christmas fair fundraiser.

Each year staff and residents at the nursing home organise a Christmas fair selling crafts and produce while friends also contribute by providing their own baked goods, crafts, accessories and Christmas decorations for sale.

It was decided that all proceeds from the last Christmas fair would be split between Wicklow Dementia Support and St Catherine's Special School.

Last week Marita Murphy of Wicklow Dementia Support paid a visit to Blainroe where she was presented with a cheque for €500.

The remainder of the money was used to purchase sensory toys which can be enjoyed by some of the young people attending St Catherine's and Louise Moran and Amanda Vickers from Blainroe, amongst others, helped coordinate all the toys and gather them together before they were presented to St Catherine's.
