Community information events

The Co Wicklow Public Participation Network (PPN) will hold two meetings in Wicklow town next week.

The first meeting will take place on Wednesday, December 6, and will be of interest to environmental interest groups. The role of the Irish Environmental Network and Environmental Pillar and how these national organisations can support local groups will be discussed, as will Wicklow County Council's plans to develop an Adaptation Plan for Climate Change.

Groups will also have the opportunity to network, support each other and feed into the Co Wicklow PPN representatives that sit on the Wicklow County Council Strategic Policy Committees.

The following day, Thursday, December 7, groups working with children are invited to attend a 'Let's Talk About Children and Young People' meeting, which will highlight the work of the Co Wicklow Children and Young People's Services Committee, as well as preparing community groups for the enactment of Children First Legislation on December 11.

Both meetings take place in An Tairseach Organic Farm and Ecology Centre at the Dominican College and will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. People are asked to register their attendance for either event by Sunday, December 3, by contacting Helen Howes at
