Club helps Alzheimer's group
Avondale House was the setting for a 5km and 1 mile fun run organised by Avondale Camogie Club.
The well-attended run acted as a fundraiser for the Rathdrum-based club and also helped raise funds for the Rathdrum Alzheimer's Society.
The charity event took place in the scenic surroundings of Avondale House and Forest Park, in what was a busy weekend for Rathdrum as the International Cartoon Festival also took place.
Avondale Camogie Club passed on its thanks to Martin Breen for setting up the event.
Avondale House and Forest Park was also thanked for allowing for the use of their facilities for the fun run.
James O'Shaughnessy sponsored the trophies, while the hard working committee put in plenty of hours to ensure that everything was ready and in place for the big day.
Tommy Long and Jean Browne both attended the event and presented the perpetual trophies to the deserved winners.
Mairead Nolan proved to be the first member of Avondale Camogie Club to manage to cross over the finishing line.
