Wicklow Male Voice Choir held a special celebratory dinner to mark 20 years in existence.

Current and past members gathered in the Grand Hotel and shared memories of days gone by.

The choir formed in 1998 after 16 people attended their first meeting in the Grand Hotel on February 3.

Their first public performance was in Wicklow Golf Club on May 24, 1998. Since then the choir has grown considerably in stature to perform at choral festivals in Sligo, Banger, Castlebar, New Ross, Navan, Derry, Arklow, Kiltimagh and Kilkenny. The Choir has also travelled to Wales, Poland, France and Germany.

Applications can still be submitted to the bursary competition being run by Wicklow Male Voice Choir. This year's competition is open to all people over 18 years of age who were born or who currently reside the county. All details of the competition are available from wmvcbursary@gmail.com. The deadline for entries is November 2.
