14-year-old Tori Byrne came bearing gifts this Christmas after spending hours toiling away in her family kitchen creating 148 puddings.

In February of last year the Dominican College Wicklow student was diagnosed with leukaemia. In August she was invited to attend Barretstown for a family weekend. The treatment and kindness received by the whole family left quite the impression on Tori.

To show her appreciation and to give something back, she decided to make 148 Christmas puddings for all to enjoy, with the proceeds from the sales going to Barretstown. She received an amazing response.

Her efforts ended up raising an incredible €1,907.

'I would like to take the opportunity to thank Ian from Centra Ashford who kindly donated all the ingredients, and Ashford GAA for donating €500 toward the fundraiser. Also thanks to Leia Doyle for helping us to make the puddings. My father Liam, mother Jenni and three brothers Karl, Oren and Liam Jnr were also very supportive. I also want to thank everyone who purchased one of the puddings and helped us raise €1,907'.
