A further four cabinets in: Red Lane, Dublin Rd; Lacken Road, Knockieran; Blessington Town Square; Kilmalum Way are in construction and due to go live, in some cases as early as next month. Once complete over 1,900 homes and businesses in the town will have access to the superfast Open Access Network.

Speaking of eircom Wholesale's investment in high-speed broadband in Blessington, Madge Tyrrell, Chair of the Blessington Enterprise Group, said: 'eircom Wholesale's investment in a high-speed broadband network in Blessington is a real vote of confidence in the town, and is particularly good news for local businesses which now have access to a fibre broadband network with speeds up to 100 mb/s.

Having access to high-speed broadband is crucial for towns like Blessington, both for existing businesses that need to be able to access new cloud-based software services such as data storage and customer relationship management, and for attracting new investment into the area. The Blessington Enterprise Group is particularly pleased that the network is an Open Access network, meaning that a wide range of broadband Service Providers can use the network to offer tailored communication solutions to local businesses in Blessington.'
