Deaths

The death took place last week of Michelle Pender, Lakeview, Blessington. Her remains were removed to the Church of Our Lady, Blessington last Wednesday afternoon for requiem Mass and her burial took place afterwards in Burgage Cemetery. There was a beautiful tribute by the staff and clients of Kare Blessington as Michelle's coffin arrived at the cemetery. All did a guard of honour. Michelle was a client of Kare.

There was a very large attendance at her funeral which was most fitting as Michelle was well known and much loved in the Blessington and surrounding area and will be sadly missed by all by all who knew her.

Later last week the death took place of Séamus (Shay) Duffy, Old Court, Manor Kilbride after a long illness. His remains were removed to Manor Kilbride Church last Sunday morning for requiem Mass and his burial took place afterwards in the nearby cemetery in Manor Kilbride. Shay was one of life's gentlemen and many an enjoyable time I had playing pitch and Putt with him down in Poulaphouca pitch and putt club. He was a fan of Newcastle United for a long number of years and always had time for a chat when our paths crossed.

There was a large attendance at Shay's funeral which was most fitting as he was well known in the Manor Kilbride and surrounding area and will be sadly missed by all of us who knew him.
