Donard - Christmas Market: Donoughmore and Donard Christmas Market takes place on Saturday, December 8, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Donoughmore Hall. You can visit all the usual stalls: Cakes, toys, bric-à-brac. Tea and mince pies hot chocolate etc. Admission Free.
The 60 first annual Ceoltas Concert will take place in Donard Hall on Sunday, December 2, from 8.10 p.m. A great night of music, song and dance is guaranteed. Admission, including tea, cost €5.
Football Club Notes
The football Club AGM will be held on Friday next in Donard Hall at 7.30 p.m. If you feel like taking on an official position in the club now is your chance. A lot of us are there a long time and some new faces might help start winning a championship or two. It is 14 years since we won one, too long for a club that has six senior championships under its belt. See you there.
There was no winner of the lotto jackpot. Juann Lennon, Tinnode, Colm O'Reilly, Brenda Daly and Ann Hynes matched three and won €40 each. The lotto now stands at €7,200.

Swift hall: Christmas cards
This year's Christmas cards for Friedreich's Ataxia research have just gone on sale. There are lots of new designs and hopefully there should be something to suit all tastes. They are great value at 15 Irish made cards for €8 of which €5 goes directly to the charity. They are available at all the following outlets. Dunlavin: Centra, Whelan's Pharmacy, Dunlavin Health Centre and the Parish Centre.

The Friedreich's Ataxia organisation (www, faraireland.ie) has supported two different research projects during 2018 to the tune of €14,000. They are hoping that with your support they may be able to co-fund a further project before the end of the year. Cards can also be got directly by emailing email@example.com.
Turning on the lights
Dunlavin and District Forum invites everyone to come along to the 2018 Dunlavin Christmas Lights Switch On event on December 1 Meeting at 5.45 p.m. at Market House. Join us for some Carol Singing followed by a mince pie and mulled wine reception afterwards in the Market House. The Christmas Fair will take place on Sunday, December 2, at midday to 4 p.m. Santa arrives at 3 p.m. To book a stall contact Bernie at 086 2872619.
Parish History Book
A new book by Chris Lawlor entitled 'With Much Quiet Fervour' on the history of Dunlavin Catholic Parish and St Nicholas of Myra Church was launched at the harvest festival. The book is now on sale in the parish office, at the back of the church, Ed's Fruit and Veg and Whelan's Pharmacy.
The 80 paged book costs €5 and would be of interest to people both within and beyond the parish. It would also make a very nice gift to send to locals who are living abroad. All proceeds from the sale of the book go to the parish. Would make a great little Christmas present for a loved one.
The Culture Bus will travel to Dublin on December 16 leaving Dunlavin at 11 a.m. and leaving Dublin at 6 p.m. Soak up the Christmas atmosphere with Vladamir's Viennese Christmas in the Concert Hall at 3 p.m. A very nice Art Exhibition running in the Chester Beatty Library (Free) To book a seat on the bus for the trip telephone 097 9693960. The friendship club is meeting every Friday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the parish centre. New members always welcome.
The Folk Group
We're at midday Mass on the second Sunday of the month and 10 a.m. Mass on the fourth Sunday of the month. We're always open to new members We practice after Mass, you don't need to be able to read music to join in the singing and there's no pressure to attend every time.
We enjoy singing uplifting modern hymns as well as a few of the beautiful traditional ones. If you're interested in joining us, contact Suzanne at 087 2977794 or speak to one of us after Mass.

Cover the shoe box with Christmas Paper, but do not close it. Any of the following items can be put into the shoe box. Hats, Scarves, gloves, socks, Thermal underwear, Roll on Deodorants, Small shampoo, wipes, toothbrush, toothpaste, chocolate bars, soap, sweets, vouchers for McDonalds/Burger King, Christmas Card. We are also looking for donations of Sleeping Bags and Warm Clothes.
Please drop the Shoe Boxes into the Hollywood Centre to any member of staff or drop it to the No Name Club on Wednesday Nights 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. or give it to any member of the No Name Club on or before December 16.

Hollywood Fair AGM
The Hollywood Fair AGM takes place on Friday night, November 30, in the Hollywood Centre at 8 p.m. Everyone most welcome to attend.

There will be music and dance in Hollywood Centre on Saturday night, December 1, 9 p.m. to midnight. Music by 'The Wicklow Man' Admission €10. Students €5 Refreshments served.
Comhaltas Ceoilteori concert
The 61st annual Donard Comhaltas Ceoilteori concert is on Sunday, December 2, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission €5 which includes tea. Everybody welcome.
The Friendship Club are visiting Newbridge Silverware on December 5 where they will as always do their Christmas Shopping and finish off with Afternoon Tea. There will be no Friendship Club at the centre on December 5. we will meet on December 12 as usual 2.15 p.m. to 4.15 p.m. and we take our Christmas Holidays till Wednesday, January 9.

Senior citizens Party
The senior citizens Christmas party will be on Thursday, December 13, in the Hollywood Inn. Meal at 3 p.m. Song and dance till 8 p.m. We wish all 95 members an enjoyable evening.
The Parish Christmas Raffle will be held after evening Mass on Saturday, December 15. Boys and Girls Santa may call by on a brief visit... so we await in anticipation.
Adult badminton takes place every Wednesday night from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Hollywood Centre. For further details contact Deirdre Keogh at 087 6193509.
The club bowl every Tuesday and Friday nights in the Hollywood Centre between 8.10 p.m. New Members' are always welcome, so come along and see what it is all about, it is a great way to spend the winter nights.

This year's Christmas Fest will take place on Sunday, December 2, in Crossbridge Hall. This annual church fundraiser will kick off at 2 p.m. with the arrival of Santa and Mrs Claus. The Tinahely Ladies' Club AGM is on this Thursday, November 29, at 8 p.m. in Clubhouse. Coláiste Eoin parents' association
Coláiste Eoin parents' association is proud to announce that Billy Redmond, from Learning House will give a talk on 'Tips and Tools for Supporting Teenagers into higher education or the world of work' in Coláiste Eoin, Hacketstown on Tuesday, November 27, at 8 p.m. This talk is of benefit to any adult supporting teenagers in navigating their journey through school and in assisting with planning for their progression to higher education or the world or work. We encourage as many parents and members of the community to attend.
