Aughrim: Active Retirement. Annual drama in Rathangan is on Friday, February 22, bus will depart Aughrim at 6.45 p.m. Tickets are €10 plus bus fare. Every Monday we meet in Aughrim for a short walk and coffee afterwards in Lawless' Hotel. Everyone is very welcome to come along. Yoga is on again next Tuesday at 10.30 a.m.

Congratulation to the Aughrim Rangers under-14 team for the 2-1 win in the Community Shield final against Ashford Rovers under-14 team, held on the Arklow Town Ground on February 16.

Pilates Classes

The numbers 8, 11, 15 and 18 were drawn in this week's Aughrim Sports club lotto February 11 match-three winners were May O'Neill, Majella O'Shea, The O'loughlin family, Tinakilly and Gerry Keogh, The Gap. The jackpot was not won. The jackpot now is €5,700.

Introduction to Yoga

An 'Introduction to Yoga' workshop will take place in Aughrim Sports Complex on Sunday, February 24, 10 a.m. to midday This workshop is for anybody who is new to yoga or returning after a long break. Town and Country Market

Church of the Sacred Heart

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, March 6, Mass will be celebrated in church of the Sacred Heart, Aughrim at 7.00.pm. Ashes will be blessed and distributed at the Mass.

GAA

Our adult team have their first outing of the year in a home game against Éire Óg next Saturday, February 23, at 3 p.m. Please come along and support these young players as they set out on a new season.

Family Cross

Planning permission has been obtained to erect a cross and all associated ground work in Jim's Way, Aughrim. This Cross will commemorate the year of the family and the visit of Pope Francis to Ireland in August 2018. If anyone would like to make a donation however great or small it can be given to any of the committee members. The committee members are as follows: Christopher Keogh (Kit), Mona Dillon, Willie O'Loughlin, Terry Doyle, Bill Quigley, Teresa Byrne (Londis), Kay Leeson and Hugh Doyle. It is hoped work will begin in March, weather permitting.

On February 13 winning numbers were 9, 21, 23 and 28. There was no jackpot winner. Four match-three winners: Denise Randle, Gavin Wolohan, Mary Canavan and Breda Keogh, who each received €25. Seller's prize: Fitzgeralds Pub. The next draw takes place on February 20 where the jackpot will be €800.

Bothar Fundraiser

In a recent fundraiser for Bothar a total of €1,162.02 was raised. Thank you to all who contributed and anyone who helped. Also thank you to Carnew Mart for facilitating the sale of the calves on the day.

Sister Ann's Mission to Haiti

The houses have been built, some children's education has been sponsored, the cold wet and hungry have been nourished after storms and earthquake from money raised in 2017 and 2018. To continue helping in 2019 a variety concert has been organised in the Woodenbridge Hotel on Wednesday, March 13, at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the hotel for €10 each. Please come an support the poor of Haiti.

Macra news

Johnstown-Coolgreany Macra and Wicklow Macra are having a new members/ titles nightthis Friday the 22nd of February in McCrea's Carnew at 8.30pm. We will have a DJ, food and plenty of craic.

45 Card Drive

A very successful 45 Card Drive is ongoing in the Coolgreany Inn on each Friday night at 8-30 pm, everyone is very welcome to come along for a good night of craic at the cards, and some lovely finger food thrown in for good measure. So please join us if you enjoy a game of 45.

45 card drive will be on in Glenealy Village Hall this Thursday night, February 21. Whist partner drive will be the following Thursday night February 28, both nights at 8.30 p.m. New players are always welcome.

The art and Handwriting are being judged at the moment thank you to all the children who took part and teachers for their continued support of our games.

Indoor bowls

Cottage market

The cottage market, located in the Glenealy Garden Centre takes place every Saturday from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. The market features local and organic vegetables, freshly baked breads, cakes and savouries, as well as jams, chutneys and tarts. Locally produced wild honey is on offer as are healthy Aloe products. Beautiful wood turned pieces, artisan gifts such as delicate dried flower crafts, tea, coffee and healthy snacks are also available. So come along, support local Wicklow producers and enjoy the atmosphere in our little cottage market. New stall holders are always welcome.
