Ashford. Community Games. Sunday evening, March 24, is the date for Ashford and Glenealy Area Talent Final in Glenealy village hall commencing at 5 p.m. for all children who reside in the area are welcome to showcase their talent in music, song, dance and recitation with under-12 and under-16 girls and boys in each event going forward to the county final which our area will host in Glenealy village hall on Sunday, April 14.

Mental health support
Sylvia Scanlon is setting up a Mental Health Support Group in the village. There are questionnaires in Bella's Bubbles, Thrift Shop, post office and McSherry's Pharmacy. Community policing clininc

Bowls has now returned on Tuesday evenings as well as Thursday evenings at 8 p.m. in St Patrick's/Forrester's Hall. New members are welcome.

CFR open evening
Our Kilmacanogue Cardiac First Responders would like to invite anyone interested in learning more about life saving skills from paediatric to adult and the importance of knowing your Eircode (help available) to an open evening this Wednesday (20th) in the Glenview Hotel starting at 8 p.m. The whole message is 'Do You Know Your Eircode' which is vital if contacting emergency services.

Plucks Golf Society
The first outing of Plucks Golf Society was held last Saturday in Powerscourt (West Course) Golf Club. Incoming Captain Greg O'Donnell welcomed the 30+ members to a wet and windy Powerscourt but the conditions certainly did not affect Tom Creavin, who shot a wonderful 38 points to win the outing by three shots. Second was Paul Murphy (35 points) and third was Antony McGrath (35 points). Category One Winner was new member Danny Nolan (34 points), Category two was Brendan Finnerty (33 points) and Category three was won by Shay Quinn (26 points). The Front Nine winner was Trevor Carr and the back nine prize was won by Paddy Byrne Snr, who said he played in similar conditions in the late 1940s. Two nearest the pin winners in Louis Nally and Paul Murphy and longest drive was hit by Bob O'Donnell. Next outing is in Arklow GC on Saturday, April 13.

Vintage tractor car run
Annamoe centre will hold their vintage tractor car run will be on April 14 at 12 o'clock looking forward to a great day.
The Roundwood and District Community Council are organising a parish wide clean-up this year on April 6. There are a limited number of litter pickers but plenty of refuse sacks/recycling bags available. If you are new to the area or would like to tackle a litter black spot do get in contact ~ it's a great way to meet the neighbours too.
Wicklow Community Games Cross Country will be heldin Avondale on Sunday, March 31, assembling at 10.30 a.m. Races over the following distances Under 6: 200m, under-eight: 300m, under-10: 400m, under-12: 600m, under-13: 1200m, under-14: 800m, under-16: 1600m and Marathon 2km. Diamond Bridge Club
Birthday Boy Paddy O'Brien secured first place for North/South with partner Rowena Brady, second Monica Brady and Bridie Nolan, third Brid Clancy and Margaret Byrne and fourth Catherine McGillycuddy and Gertie Fee. First place for East/West was won by Maria Magee and Judy Skates, second Marian Davis and Teresa Leahy, and joint third/fourth John Losher and Marie Kavanagh and Séamus Kennedy and Triona Woodroofe.
Mural art project
Roundwood and District Community Council with the support of Kildare Wicklow Education Training Board are running an eight-week mural art project for adults in Roundwood starting in late March. There was no jackpot winner in last week's draw. The numbers drawn were 3, 4, 9 and 17. There were 10 match-three winners, J Waters, N Lyons, C Dunleavy, D Carstairs, K Hannon, S McCormack, P Devine, C & T, R Cullen and J Lowe. Next week's jackpot will be €10,900.
The Shed continues every Tuesday between 10 a.m. and midday in our Shed within a Shed at Pat Carr's place in Knockraheen. The topics are wide and varied and we continue to participate in a growing list of activities.
Our weekly set dancing sessions continue in Kavanagh's Lounge with the O'Kane family returning for the month of March. All are always welcome - whether you have ever or never danced before. Session starts at 8.30 till 10.30 and cost is still only €5 for a good night of exercise.
There will be a pilgrimage to Knock on Saturday, April 27, leaving Laragh at 7.45 a.m. and at Roundwood 8 a.m. The cost is €65 per person and includes, bus, breakfast and dinner. All money to be paid by April 1 to Susan at 087 6273032.
There will be a trip to Lourdes from May 27 to May 31 and three seats left for May 20 to May 24. There will be a tour of Scotland from the 26th to July 31 for six days. Computer coding club
Coder Dojo is a global volunteer led community of free programming clubs for young people. Young people learn how to code, develop websites, apps, programs, games and explore technology. The Roundwood Cancer Support centre is now up and running and is open in the Parish Centre on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. Please feel free to pop in for a chat we will be happy to help. The Roundwood and District Community Council are registered to administer the senior alert scheme which provides grants to elderly people towards the provision of personal alarms. The personal alarm offers reassurance to allow independent living, safe in the knowledge that you can quickly be in contact with a family member or neighbour in the event of an emergency.
