Ashford: Community Games - Well done to all the children who took part in the area Talent final last Sunday, a wonderful evening of entertainment in music, song and dance the winners in the under-12s and under-16s categories will go forward to the county final on Sunday, April 14, hosted by our Glenealy village hall with 12.30 check in for 1 p.m. start.

Card Drive

45 Card drive will be on in Glenealy Village Hall this Thursday night, April 4. Whist partner card drive will be the following Thursday night, April 11, Both nights at 8.30 p.m. New players always welcome.

Concert

There will be a concert in Glenealy village hall on Saturday, April 13, as part of St Joseph's church 150th Anniversary celebration with the Wicklow male voice choir, American college students, St Joseph's school band and Doey Walsh. MC on the night will be Mr Paul Sharkey, commencing 7.30 p.m. Tickets €10 and admission by ticket only. East Coast Coffee Morning

The Wicklow East Coast Cancer coffee morning will be on in Glenealy Village hall on Friday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to midday. Lots of home baking, Monster raffle, music and lots more. please put in your diary and support such a great cause. Hope to see you all on the day.

Indoor Bowls

Indoor bowls is played in Glenealy Village Hall every Wednesday night at 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. just drop in any Wednesday night if you would like to start playing in door bowls. For more information contact 0404 44040.

Cottage Market

The cottage market, located in the Glenealy Garden Centre takes place every Saturday from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. The market features local and organic vegetables, freshly baked breads, cakes and savouries, as well as jams, chutneys and tarts. Locally produced wild honey is on offer as are healthy Aloe products. Beautiful wood turned pieces, artisan gifts such as delicate dried flower crafts, tea, coffee and healthy snacks are also available. So come along, support local Wicklow producers and enjoy the atmosphere in our little cottage market. New stall holders are always.

Pilates classes

Pilates classes are now running in Glenealy Village Hall on Tuesday evenings from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Running from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Beginners/improvers and all ages welcome. seven weeks for €70 or drop-in-rate €12. Gymboree

Gymboree play and music classes continue every Tuesday mornings at 11 a.m. in Glenealy Village Hall. Suitable for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers from six months - four years. teach your child a love of music through songs, dance, movement fun and musical instruments, exploring various different music styles. Laragh-Glendalough

Temple na Skellig

Glendalough Heritage Forum (GHF) invites you to a public lecture, Temple na Skellig: new understandings of Francoise Henry's 1950s' excavations which will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 26, in the Brockagh Resource Centre.

The talk will highlight the results of a new project which finally publishes Henry's excavations and will also offer very brief news of the ongoing GHF/UCD excavations at Glendalough. In addition, it is planned to ask for help in identifying members of the local workforce who staffed her excavations and who appear in many of the photographs of the site.

Car boot sales

Our next car boot day will be on Sunday, April 7, open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bargains on practically anything from household items to garden additions, and even vintage or antique treasures. Vans must be booked in. Please pre-book indoor spaces early. Climate Change Talk

On April 11, Laragh Tidy Towns will host a workshop on how to reduce waste and improve recycling in the home. The talk will take place in the Brockagh Resource Centre, starting at 7.30 p.m. The workshop will be followed by a short talk on climate change. Everyone is welcome to attend. Basket Weaving Workshops

Learn to make a traditional round basket using willow. Suitable for both beginners and improvers.

Go For Life

The group meet most Tuesdays, so if you fancy a chat, a cuppa and some light exercise, bowls, music come along on at 11 a.m., they welcome any newcomer.

Happy Days

On Tuesdays mornings from 10.30 a.m. to midday at the Brockagh Centre, parents, babies and toddlers get together, have lots of fun weeks with art and crafts and make new friends. It is also a great way to meet and socialize with parents, especially if you are new to the area.
