Taekwondo for children

Tai chi/qi gong
Tai Chi and Qi Gong helps to relieve stress, increase stamina, improve balance and prevent falls. It also helps to increases flexibility and mobility and has many other health benefits. Learn gentle flowing healing movements that help to relieve stress, improve flexibility and mobility at Annacurra Community Hall. Age group: Adults of all ages. Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to midday. Zumba class for children
Zumba is a fun and energetic class combining both Latin and popular music. The movement of Zumba is a great way for children to exercise and have fun at the same time.
Every Monday there is a class at Annacurra Community Hall, for age group 5-12. Time: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Cost: €25 per four-week block (minimum numbers of block booked payments will need to be reached before class can proceed) We need a few more numbers to get the Monday 4.00 to 5.00 slot going for the local kids, so watch this space for update.

Well done to all our badminton and chess ♟ players who traveled in the cold and snowy weather today. Congratulations to the under-15 boys and girls badminton who are the County Wicklow champions and will travel to Dublin to compete in the first round of Leinster. To our chess team first time competing you were great and lost to an experienced team. Thank you to our parents coaches and volunteers for their support.

The Meeting Place
The Meeting Place Community Café will celebrate its third birthday next weekend (St Patrick's). Please drop in on either Friday the 15th. or Saturday. 16th. to celebrate with us and have some birthday cake.
All thanks to our wonderful volunteers. Without them there would be no café. New volunteers are always welcome. Come and join us if you have a spare hour or two.
Donoughmore and Donard Parish is hosting a Soup Lunch in aid of Focus Ireland on Sunday, March 24, from 11 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. in Donard Community Hall. Donation box at the door. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
Community Forum AGM
Hollywood Community Forum hosted their annual general meeting in the Hollywood Community Centre on Tuesday, March 5. The following officers were elected. Chair. : Kay Hogan. Vice-chairperson: Mary O'Callaghan. Secretary: Aideen Klauer (Assistant Ann Halpin). Treasurers: Richard Burke, Claire Burke and Tommy Tutty. Public Relations Office: Ann Halpin.
The Hollywood Community Forum expressed their appreciation to the outgoing chairman councillor Jim Ruttle for all his wonderful contribution in guiding tthe forum through its informative years. Cllr Ruttle stated, he was delighted to have supported the forum, the associated groups and the people of Hollywood.
He also stated; the forum had an enormous amount of engagement with the county Council, Co Wicklow Partnership and Rural Recreation regarding the Hollywood Footpath, St Kevin's Way, and the reduction of the speed limit on the N81. All of these projects are in an advanced stage of progress and the forum is very optimist regarding the outcomes.
Following on from the very positive feedback on the Hollywood Community Directory it was proposed it should be updated and reprinted later on in the year. The community of Hollywood has attracted a number of new families and business who would benefit from this directory. Notice will be publicized if you would like to be included in the directory.
The Forum is currently involved with the development of the St Kevin's Way Trail. St Kevin's Way is a unique pilgrim path which requires improvement and maintenance work to enhance the route to Glendalough. The Hollywood forum was teamed up with the friends of St Kevin's Way and the Co Wicklow Partnership rural recreation office Bryan Fennel to progress matters. We are delighted that Bryan's application has been successful and work will commence this summer.
Hollywood Footpath and N81 update: Our application for the 'Town and Village Renewal Grant' was successful last year we received €29,757. The Forum submission focused on the need to link the footpath from the village to Daly's garage/shop. This is an ongoing project at the moment.
Members of the Hollywood Community Forum attended the following meetings during the year: Public Participation Network, these meetings are designed to encourage groups to actively give their voice to the future planning in Wicklow, training in grant applications and networking with over 200 groups and organisation in Wicklow. The Uplands Committee AGM, The friends of the St Kevin's Way, Co Wicklow Tourism AGM, The Cultural Renewal Event, The Vision for Community Wellbeing Strategy, Joint Policing Committee, Tackling Rural Crime Sub-committee and Wicklow County Council Meetings. When representing the community we tried to convey the views, needs and concerns noted in Hollywood.
The Forum has maintained a positive and constructive presence county wide. We are recognized as an umbrella group for the Hollywood community, this is based on our ethics and enthusiasm at these meeting to promote Hollywood. We also have been contacted by several local and countywide groups over the year to support them in their project.
We are delighted to meet any group in Hollywood, who might need guidance and assistance in seeking information, grants and filling out applications. We also have a printer which we will make available to any group wishing to print out applications etc free of charge.
The schedule of forum meetings will take place on a bi-monthly base. They will be held at 8 p.m. in the Hollywood Community Centre on the second Monday of the month. The schedule is as follows. 2019: May 13, July 8, September 9, November 11, January 13, 2020: March 9 AGM. In the unlikely case where the second Monday is not possible the third Monday of the month will be used.

Lotto draw results for March 7: The numbers drawn were 4, 11, 20 and 21. There was no winner of the jackpot. The seller's prize went to Kevin Traynor (261).
