Annacurra. GAA lotto. Congratulations to the winners of the club draw: Miriam Killoran €1,000, Jon Hynes €300, Ciaran Byrne €100. Lotto numbers were. 16 18 23 26. No winners so jackpot €5,550.

Community Playground

The playground will be officially opened on Saturday, April 6, at 2 p.m. We would love to see you all there.

Community Games

The County Wicklow Cross Country takes place on Sunday, March 31, in Avondale Park with registration a 10.30 a.m. with a 11 a.m. start. It is for all children attending under-six to under-16. Please let your coach and Fiona Shannon know at athletics training that you are interested in entering as we need to register every child online. There is a €3 entry fee per child to be given to a coach that morning which will be giving to county and every child receives a ticket and they bring it to their race. We need to know by Friday, March 22, Contact Fiona Shannon at 087 2218366.

Cross Country/Mixed distances: under-six - 200m; under-eights - 300m; under-10s - 400m; under-12s - 600m; under-13s - 1200m; under-14s - 800m; under-16s - 1600m. The marathon 2km is on March 31 in Avondale too.

45 Card Game

There is a 45 Card game on Friday, March 22, in the Saltee, starting at 9 p.m.

Whist

There will be a whist drive in Annacurra Community hall on Saturday, March 23, starting at 9 p.m.

Lourdes draw

Tickets for the Lourdes draw should be returned as soon as possible. Please leave the tickets with Fr Sheridan.

Zumba class for children

Zumba is a fun and energetic class combining both Latin and popular music. The movement of Zumba is a great way for children to exercise and have fun at the same time.

Every Monday there is a class at Annacurra Community Hall, for age group 5-12. Time: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Cost: €25 per four-week block (minimum numbers of block booked payments will need to be reached before class can proceed)

Need a few more numbers to get the Monday 4.00 to 5.00 slot going for the local kids, so watch this space for update.

There is also potential, if enough interest is shown, for an adult class to follow in late Spring/early summer, so watch this space.

Tai Chi/Qi Gong

Tai Chi and Qi Gong helps to relieve stress, increase stamina, improve balance and prevent falls. It also helps to increases flexibility and mobility and has many other health benefits. Learn gentle flowing healing movements that help to relieve stress, improve flexibility and mobility at Annacurra Community Hall. Age group: Adults of all ages. Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to midday. Taekwon Do for children

Taekwon Do is renowned for developing focus, co-ordination, physical strength, self confidence, agility, balance, discipline and respect.

There is a class every Wednesday at Annacurra Community Hall from 4.30 p.m. to 5.15 p.m. Cost: €25 per month (monthly fees only). Age group: 5-12. Yoga Classes

Active Retirement

Chair yoga continues on Tuesdays at 10.30 a.m. We continue to meet at Phelan's every Monday at 10.30 a.m. for a short walk followed by coffee in Lawless' Hotel. Everyone is welcome to join us. Trip to the National Concert Hall for the R & R music from the musicals is on Saturday, April 13.

Lotto

The numbers 5, 8, 19 and 22 were drawn in this week's Aughrim Sports club lotto March 11 the jackpot was won by Cormac Henry. Match-three winners were Dermot Leeson, Johnny Keogh, Eamon Franey, Sandra Haughton and Rory O'Brien. The jackpot is €1,500.

Town and Country Market

A warm welcome to all at Aughrim Town and Country Market, Rednagh Road, every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy the buzz in the Pavilion Cafe as you catch up with friends over coffee and treats. East Coast coffee morning

Join us for a coffee morning of delicious treats and entertainment with music from Abhainn Dubh on Sunday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh. Basket Weaving Workshops

Learn to make a traditional round basket using willow. Suitable for both beginners and improvers. We Love Art

Art and crafts classes for children of primary school age take place on Monday afternoons. Classes cover a wide range of art and craft techniques and processes, giving kids an outlet for creative self-expression while learning new skills. Adult Art Classes

Wednesday morning drawing and painting classes are suitable for beginners as well as more experienced painters. Drama School

Drama classes are a fantastic way of developing confidence and encouraging creativity and imagination. Drama modules will incorporate improvisation, mime, script work, vocal training and acting skills. Students will also learn from the Irish Board of Speech and Drama syllabus and be afforded opportunities to take graded examinations under a fully qualified teacher. Elevation Dance School

Our Modern Dance classes focus on Jazz, Lyrical, and Commercial styles as well as ISTD syllabus work giving a well-rounded understanding of the Modern Theatre style. Pilates Classes

Pilates strengthens core muscles, improves muscle control, flexibility, strength and tone, as well as alignment and breathing. Zara Elkinson has trained and qualified through the STOTT Pilates Method of Movement. This method combines modern theories of exercise science with spinal rehabilitation, which gives a safe and effective exercise that sees results and is accessible to all. Scrap Metal Day

Clean up your home or Farmyard for free from the Monday, March 25, to Sunday, March 31. Leave your metal scrap around the back of the building near the bottle bank. To view the kind of scrap acceptable, go to Brockagh Resource Centre Facebook page. This is a fundraiser in aid of the Brockagh Resource Centre (0404 45600 or brockaghresourcecentre@gmail.com). We can not accept any 'white goods', i.e. fridges, washing machine, dryers, cookers. All those items need to be disposed of at an approved WEEE facility. All other metals, iron, steel, galvanised iron, such as shed roofs or parts of fences/gates, can be accepted. Also stainless steel such as kitchen sinks.

Whist

Results of the last whist drive are as follows: Top Score - C Doyle and B Farrell; second place - M Haughton and R Murphy; third place - M Whelan and S Brady and fourth place - M Rattray and J Corcoran. Raffle winners were M Murphy, M Rattray and G Curran. Well done to all. Next whist drive will be held on Wednesday, March 20, at 8.30 p.m. in the Anne Devlin Annex.

Bingo

Bingo continues as usual every Friday night at 8.30 p.m. with great prizes. Extra prize money on every first Friday.

RDA sponsorship

The RDA would like to wish the St Patrick's Day parade committee the very best for next Sundays parade. The RDA are delighted once again to sponsor the trophies for the day as it has for many years. The parade is always one of the best in the county and we encourage everyone to get out on the street and support it.

Parnell Memorial Park

As Spring slowly makes its mark the RDA have had some pruning done in the park particularly at the 1916 Memorial and at the Parnell monument. The results are really good. As more people use the park with longer evenings now, the RDA once again urge everyone to clean up after dogs and please do not litter the park. The park is kept in such good condition thanks to a number of people who volunteer their time to its upkeep.

Cancer support AGM

Rathdrum Cancer support will hold their AGM on March 21 at St Anne's House, Lower Main Street, Rathdrum. The AGM will commence at 7.30 p.m. all welcome.

Unwanted gifts

If you have any unwanted gifts that could be donated for the East Coast coffee morning it would be greatly appreciated. Unwanted gifts can be left with Bill Porter in Avondale Sports shop Main Street Rathdrum.

Lough Derg

A weekend in Donegal from September 14 to September 15. Leaving Rathdrum on Saturday the 14th, staying overnight in Central Hotel Donegal.
