Indoor Bowls

Annacurra Bowls Club commenced bowling on November 13, 1998. Its membership capacity was filled almost instantly, with a total membership of thirty-two. Only twenty-four people can be accommodated to play at any one time. Therefore, we had no option but freeze the membership number at thirty-two, as there is no point in having people sitting down half the time waiting for a game while someone else would have to come off a carpet to allow them in.

Fast Forward to 2018... Unfortunately, everything changes over a twenty-year period. With the loss of so many members over the years, we now have several vacancies.

This has become a very important social activity for the parish/community of Annacurra and surrounding areas. Over recent years there a myth which many local comedians love to suggest... 'I'm too young to join the bowls..' This is something that brings a smile to our faces. When we started out some of our members were in their Twenties and early Thirties.

For our club to survive another Twenty Years, we are appealing to anyone from the area in any age bracket upwards to come along to Annacurra Community Centre any Thursday or Sunday evening at 8 p.m. and try it out.
