Annacurra community to host fundraiser in memory of Sean
The community of Annacurra will be dusting off their hurleys and sliotars for a worthy cause on Saturday, September 9.
Annacurra Camogie Club has joined forces with the Maher and Lifely families to host an event in memory of local man Sean Maher and also to mark the 60th anniversary of the club.
Funds raised on the day will go to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust which supported Sean's partner Leane and family following his sad death in Canada earlier this year.
The event will kick off at the local community field with a children's GAA blitz at 10 a.m.
This will be followed by a camogie blitz from 1 p.m. and in the afternoon past and present club members, will take part in a camogie match just for fun.
Some of the original club members will be present on the day to show their support.
Throughout the day there will be music and entertainment and tickets will be on sale for a monster raffle with some great prizes up for grabs.
There is no cover charge for the fun day or the night of Ceol & Craic from 8 p.m. in The Saltee so supporters are encouraged to buy a raffle ticket instead.
On Sunday 10, Mass will be said for the deceased members of Annacurra Camogie Club in the parish church.
