€65,000 funding for Music Generation Wicklow scheme
Music Generation Wicklow was awarded €65,000 worth of funding under the Music Capital Purchase Scheme at the Glenview Hotel on Tuesday.
A new music education service for children and young people in the county, Music Generation Wicklow is part of Ireland's national music education programme, Music Generation, and has involved over 3,000 children across Wicklow this year.
The funding awarded on the night will go towards the purchase of musical instruments required to extend involvement to children who would not have access to instruments of their own.
All applicants were presented with their award of funding by Cllr Mick Glynn, Chair of Music Generation Wicklow, and Eithne Egan, Director of Operations and Communications with Music Generation.
Manager Ann Nolan was keen to thank all those who availed of the service this year as well as the dedicated team for making it such a success.
