A large crowd participated in Young at Heart, which was held in Wicklow Golf Club for retired members of the community.

The event experienced a full house and is kindly sponsored every year by Michael and Noreen O'Sullivan.

The night was totally free and included food provided by the Wicklow Regatta Committee and the Golf Club.

There was music from the ever-popular Thomas and Shay who ensured that the dance floor was packed for most of the night. There were also awards presented for 'Glamorous Granny and Granddad', 'Glamorous Great Granny and Great Granddad' and a prize for 'Best Waltz'.

The event has become one of the mainstays of the Wicklow Regatta programme down through the years.

Many of the participants in Young at Heart also attended a historical walk of Wicklow town led by local historian John Finlay. Other Regatta events which proved popular during the week included treasure hunts for both kids and adults, golly fishing, a Don Conroy workshop, Wicklow's Got Talent and an historical talk by Stan O'Reilly and Vincent O'Reilly.
