New show at AVA
A solo exhibition by artist Nicola Riley opened in the Arklow Visual Arts Gallery yesterday.
A local artist, Nicola works in a variety of media, including ceramics and textiles. Her designs are drawn straight on to fabric or clay. Following this, layers of embroidery stitches or glazes are added to bring colour and a sense of whimsy to the work.
Nicola creates her art under the guidance of art teacher Fiona O'Hara at Ballyraine and Sunbeam House. This will be her second solo show.
The exhibition continues at the Arklow Visual Arts Gallery until Friday, September 13. All are welcome. Arklow Visual Arts Gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
