St Patrick's Church was the setting for a magical night of music featuring a performance from the RTE Concert Orchestra.

Also on the line-up were local talents Anthony Norton, Una Pedreschi, Lorna Breen and Lindsey Aherne.

The concert marked the first ever time the RTE Concert Orchestra has ever performed in Wicklow town. The full-time professional orchestra was formed as the Radio Éireann Light Orchestra in 1948, and has since grown from a small studio-based recording group to become an active 45-strong orchestra.

The orchestra covered a wide range of music styles on the night, including some seasonal tunes with a festive flavour. The other performing acts also impressed the large sold-out crowd. Anthony Norton would be well known as the director of Avondale Voices and Wicklow Community Choir, while Una Pedreshci has toured nationally and internationally. Lorna Breen is considered one of the finest young talents in the country and Lindsey Aherne has sang all over Ireland and the UK.
