Foot-stomping good fun
Blessington Musical and Dramatic Society was the talk of the town after their spectacular production of 'Hairspray' in the Tramway Theatre.
The society currently boasts over 30 members and performed in front of enraptured audiences on Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.
A matinee performance also took place on the Friday afternoon.
Rebecca Higgins and Sinead McKenna shared the lead role of Tracy while Martin Prendergast made an excellent, Edna Turnblad, Tracy's mother.
Emma Thompson took the role of Velma Von Tussle, while Niamh Brooks played Wllbur Turnblad.
'Hairspray' is set in 1962 in Baltimore, Maryland. Teenager Tracy Turnblad's dream is to dance on The Corny Collins Show, a local TV dance programme.
