Fifty beers at 2nd Redcross Festival

The second Redcross Beer Festival returns to Wicklow Brewery this Friday and Saturday, October 6 and 7.

Don't miss out on live music, great beer, a barbecue and much more. If you're looking for more entertainment, you'll find games in the beer-hall during the Saturday.

Lovers of craft beers will have the chance to try close to 50 different brews.

Besides Wicklow Brewery, there will be several guest breweries from the county attending: Wicklow Wolf from Bray, O'Brother Brewing from Kilcoole, Mont Beer from Blessington, plus Third Barrel Brewing from Dublin.

On Friday there will be music from 'The Chosen Few' from 6 p.m., while there will be live music on the Saturday from 'The Big Muddy' from 2 p.m.. Admission is free ad there will be a seafood and meat barbecue in the courtyard.

Wicklow Brewery opened in 2014 out of the popular Mickey Finn's Pub and has already accumulated numerous awards. In September they won awards and three Country Medals at the International Beer Awards and International Beer Challenge. Wicklow Helles Lager was crowned the World Beer Awards Winner. WB40 IPA was a World Beer Awards Country Winner and received a International Beer Challenge Silver Medal. Hopknut Pale Ale was a World Beer Awards Country winner and a winner of an International Beer Challenge Silver Medal. Wicklow Weiss won a Gold Medal and there were Bronzes for St Kevin's Red Ale and GingerKnut Ginger Beer.
