Catherine McCann launched her latest book in the stunning surroundings of Shekina Sculpture Garden.
Dr James Leitch was present to help Catherine launch 'Love Life: A Holistic Understanding of Ageing', an update of the highly-acclaimed 'Falling in Love with Life', her second book which was published in 1996.
The new book presents the positive side to getting older and offers practical advice on how to make retirement an enjoyable time full of possibilities for personal enrichment and fulfilment.
Catherine has certainly fitted a lot into her life, joining the Sisters of Charity aged 20 and spending 25 years as a nun.
As well as writing books, Catherine is also a physiotherapist, counsellor and spiritual director.
Shekina Sculpture Garden is a place very much close to the author's heart.
In 1979, she bought a cottage in Glenmalure and, over time, collected a number of sculptures.
The state took ownership of the property in 1995 and it is now owned by the National Parks and Wildlife section of the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
