A celebration of Bray work

Students of Bray adult education centre have put on an impressive exhibition. Mary Fogarty reports

'A Celebration' is an exhibition of works by past and present students of Bray Adult Education Centre, which is now on show.

The work was hung at Signal Arts Centre on Monday, January 8, and will remain there until Sunday, January 21.

The education centre, which recently moved to a building at the Civic Plaza, invited artists to send in photographs of their work for consideration.

A group of three teachers then selected pieces to exhibit, and celebrate the creativity of everyone who had studied in the range of art courses.

They received submissions from the talented artists in a wide variety of media, including ceramics, oils, watercolour, drawings and more.

The show means that the students get the chance to show the hard work and creative energy they put into the pieces throughout their studies and beyond.

Bray Adult Education Centre exists to provide a second chance in education to adult learners.

For the past decade and a half it has seen some of the most significant developments in education in Bray. Today, more than 150 students attend a variety of courses including science, metalwork, IT, childcare, woodwork and more.

An opening reception will take place at Signal Arts Centre on Thursday, January 11, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
