Glenealy Tidy Towns committee would like to sincerely thank everyone who donated to their collection at the blessing of graves, and all money collected will go towards the continued upkeep of the village.
Thanks are also offered to the hall committee for the use of their excellent facilities and to all who helped out on the day.
Bingo is played at Newtownmountkennedy Community Centre every Friday.

Chime In Play
Chime In Play, formerly known as Gymboree, will have summer pop up classes in Glenealy Village Hall, on Tuesdays August 9 and August 23.
Teach your child a love of music through songs, dance, instruments and fun – suitable for all babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers from 6 months to 4 years.

The Liam Tiny Kenny Memorial Run
The Liam Tiny Kenny Memorial run and show in aid of Rathdrum cancer support group in conjunction with the Wicklow vintage club and Liam Kenny’s family will take place on August 28th.
Registration will take place from 11.30am and the run will be after the show meeting at Ballinacor Community park A67WY83.
Vintage classic cars and tractors and lorries and motorbikes are welcome Refreshments served on the day Please adhere to current Covid guidelines on the day.

Adult art classes
Adult art classes have been postponed until further notice at the Brockagh Resource Centre.
Closed AA Meetings are held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8.30 p.m. every Monday night all year round.
Excess garden produce
Anyone with an extra supply of garden food produce you can drop it outside the main entrance of the Brockagh Resource Centre in the crate provided for the community to share.
Free cooking apples outside the front door in a container for anyone to have this week.
Pattern Day walk
The annual Pattern Day Walk from Moneystown Community Centre to Lady’s Well Ballymanus Upper on Carrick Mountain will take place on Sunday August 14, leaving Moneystown at 6 p.m.
The route is about 9 km return route to Moneystown (good walking shoes and waterproof clothing recommended and no dogs allowed).
It’s suitable of older children accompanied by adults. The route is along the road then on Coillte roads. Lady’s well is an ancient well that is marked on the Neville Maps of 1760 as an important site.
The Well was rediscovered in 2013 and there has been a walk every year or close to the original pattern day, August 15th .There will be a short talk on the history and traditions of the holy wells including the Pre-Christian and Christians of this ancient site and also relevant local history.
If you want to play music, read a poem or sing a song feel free to join in as singing, dancing etc were all part of the traditions of pattern days and visits to the well.

The Wicklow Athletics Off-Road Championship is coming to Laragh on Saturday, August 20, starting from 9.30 a.m. and with finishers expected from 10.20 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The races start and finish at Laragh GAA grounds.
The clubs of Wicklow will be competing for individual and team honours across various age categories as part of the Derrybawn Woods 10k race, which is open for entry to the public, and on the same day as the Run the Ridge 20k event, which raises funds for Glendalough Athletics Club and the juvenile section of Laragh GAA Club.
There’ll be an option to support and cheer on the runners both down at the GAA grounds and out on the route, with the bird-gate zig-zags will be a particularly good spot. There will be the usual category and individual prizes as well.

On Monday mornings weekly at 10 a.m. join the Laragh walking group at Brockagh Resource Centre for a walk around the Glendalough area for approximately one hour. No need to book, just show up on the day

Every Saturday, Wicklow Library hosts story-time for children up to six years of age, while every Thursday Comhrá agus Ceol takes place at 11.15 a.m., which involves conversation and songs for children aged up to four years.

Aikido is a non-competitive Japanese Martial Art for Flexibility, Coordination, Relaxation and Self Defence.
The instructor is Joe McHugh, 5th Dan Aikido Aikikai. Classes take place at Moneystown Community Hall on Wednesdays evenings from 7.30 p.m. Beginners are especially welcome. The cost is €5 for the unemployed and €8 for the employed. For information, contact 086 1019668.
