Booming west Wicklow superstore create new staff positions
Quinns Superstore in Baltinglass are seeking applicants for a variety of positions.
Quinns Superstore in Baltinglass has advertised multiple staff positions in response to a busy period for the popular agri-store, which sells everything from seeds and animal feed to fertilisers, fuels and hardware goods.
Established by William (Bill) Quinn in Baltinglass in 1936, Quinns has grown to become one of the largest privately owned Agriculture merchants in the country and currently employs over 220 staff across six agri-stores in Baltinglass and Avoca (County Wicklow), Naas and Athy (County Kildare), Milford (County Carlow) and Geashill (County Offaly).
The flagship Baltinglass branch is currently seeking a new Assistant Manager, Agri-Sales assistants, a Garden and Outdoor Sales Advisor and a Trade Counter Assistant, while their Naas agri-store is also seeking an Assistant Manager.
“We’re just so busy that we’re looking to expand our staff, and the Assistant Manager positions are brand new hires, which is great to be able to do, especially in the current climate,” a spokesperson for Quinns Baltinglass said.
“As you know, prices have gone up in the agri-sector, but business hasn’t really slowed down for us – animals still need to be fed and seeds still need to be sewn.
“We have regular customers who come in from all over west Wicklow, from Blessington down, with some from the Rathvilly, Hacketstown, Ballitore and Castledermot areas.
“We are always looking for the right people to join our team, and we would hope to attract candidates from near and far, not just within the Baltinglass area.
“I think there is a perception that Baltinglass is very rural, but it’s really not the case – we’re 10 minutes from the motorway, 25 minutes from Blessington and 20 minutes from Carlow town. It’s so commutable.”
To apply for any of the positions at Quinns of Baltinglass, submit your CV and cover letter to recruitment@quinns.ie or visit www.quinns.ie/index.php/about/careers/ for further details.
