Premier Division

Glencormac United clinched runners-up spot in the Premier Division with a resounding 5-1 victory over Newtown United on Sunday.

Goals from Andrew McNamara and James Delahunty gave the Glens a 2-0 half-time advantage, and McNamara bagged two more after the interval to complete his hat-trick, while Josh O’Callaghan also got in on the act.

Avoca FC top the Division 1 table after a 3-1 away win over Newtown United ‘B’ on Saturday.

Michael Murphy hit the back of the net for the winners, while Oisin McGraynor added a double.

Shamrock Celtic moved up to second spot with a 4-0 win over Ballywaltrim on Sunday. Tom Kavanagh, Darren Collopy Patrick Woods and Scott Meaney all got on the scoresheet.

Arklow United saw off Newtown United ‘B’ 4-1 on Tuesday of last week, with Zach Kilbride contributing a double and Adam Walker and Mark Nolan adding a goal apiece.

Under-17 League

Table-toppers Ashford Rovers got the better of Coolboy Rangers in a goal-fest on Saturday, running out 5-3 winners in Ballinalea Park.

Sam Greene, Luke Fitzpatrick, Daragh Heffernan, Nicholas McAllister and James Grant scored for the hosts.

Aughrim Rangers added six points to their tally with impressive 4-0 and 6-1 wins over Coolboy and Rathnew respectively.

Joe McGuckian netted hat-tricks in both games, with Sam Healy grabbing the other goal against Coolboy and Collie McGuckian, Cian Keogh and Oisin Keegan scoring against the villagers.
